As she leads up to her second album as Torres, Brooklyn-via-Georgia indie-rocker Mackenzie Scott has made quite a splash with an impressive run of singles (including the Endless Playlist-ed “Cowboy Guilt.” ) Sprinter, out May 5 via Partisan, is a dark, intimate record full of tender moments, but Scott is not afraid to get gritty and step up the gain when the situation calls for it. But don’t take our word for it; Sprinter is streaming a week before its official release via NPR Music.
