Grateful Dead tribute album to feature The National, Flaming Lips, War on Drugs

Grateful Dead tribute Day of the Dead
On May 20, 4AD will release Day of the Dead, a new Grateful Dead tribute album organized and curated by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National. The compilation is actually quite massive, featuring 59 songs and spanning almost six hours. It’ll be released digitally, as a 5 CD set and a limited edition vinyl box set, with proceeds going toward the Red Hot Organization, which helps fight AIDS/HIV around the world. There are also a lot of big names on the compilation, including several appearances by The National, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Flaming Lips, Wilco, The War on Drugs, Courtney Barnett, Phosphorescent, Jenny Lewis, Kurt Vile, Angel Olsen, Perfume Genius, Charles Bradley, Orchestra Baobab, Real Estate and Bill Callahan, among many others.
