Corin Tucker Band announce new album - 06.18.2012
Following 2010's debut 1,000 Years, the Corin Tucker Band, fronted by ex-Sleater-Kinney singer/guitarist Corin Tucker, has announced second album Kill My Blues will be released Sept. 18 via Kill Rock Stars. The album was written collaboratively with all band members, which include Sara Luna (Unwound), Mike Clark (Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks), and Seth Lorinczi (Golden Bears), and finds Tucker "returning to her riot grrrl sonic roots."

Headlining this year's fest are Refused, M83 and Beirut, and among the tons of other awesome artists scheduled to play are Aesop Rock, Against Me!, Atlas Sound, Baroness, Black Dice, Black Mountain, Ceremony, Chromatics, Cloud Nothings, Converge, Dam Funk, Desaparecidos, Dinosaur Jr, Fucked Up, Future Islands, Health, Hot Snakes, John Maus, King Khan & the Shrines, Liars, Lightning Bolt, Moonface, Nite Jewel, Purity Ring, Quicksand, Redd Kross, Refused, Sandro Perri, Simian Mobile Disco, Sleigh Bells, The Field, The Men, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Vaselines, Twin Shadow, Warpaint, Wild Flag, Wild Nothing and Yeasayer.

Cat Power announces new album - 06.18.2012
Cat Power announced that she will release Sun, her first new album since 2008's Jukebox (and first album of all new material since 2006's The Greatest), Sept. 4 via Matador.
The album, according to an interview with The Stool Pigeon, was finished around the time that Cat Power's Chan Marshall broke-up with longtime boyfriend, actor Giovanni Ribisi.
"I cut my hair off three days [after the break-up], got on a plane to France, and finished the shit," she said. "It's all good, you know. I love the person very much. I actually love this record very much, too. I'm very proud of it."

Morrissey recently threatened to retire in two years, then subsequently retracted the statement, which is an important lesson to us all that sometimes the legendary British singer is prone to hyperbole. In fact, Moz has a bunch of new U.S. tour dates lined up this fall, including one date with Iggy and the Stooges.
