Scott Walker working on new album - 06.21.2012


Art pop and avant garde legend Scott Walker is currently working on his long-awaited follow up to 2006's The Drift. Last night in New York, at an event hosted by 4AD, the label treated some lucky listeners to a brand new song, which, according to Pitchfork, "featured an album's worth of ideas as it went from pummeling drum rhythms to near-a cappella crooning. Its overall effect was unsettling, daunting, thrilling."

Oooh. Well, anyhow, the album is expected to be out in the fall.

Stars announce new album - 06.21.2012


On Sept. 4, Canadian indie rockers Stars will release The North, their follow-up to 2010's The Five Ghosts, via ATO. The group has also debuted the first track from the album, "Theory of Relativity" over on Soundcloud.

Kanye West releasing G.O.O.D. album in August - 06.21.2012


We don't know if jungle sounds are ending up on the album, but Kanye West has announced that his G.O.O.D. Music collaborative album, titled Cruel Summer, will be released Aug. 7. Pusha T, Frank Ocean, Jay Electronica, Big Sean and many others will appear on the album.

According to an inside source, animal lover Kanye West has "become obsessed with roars, barks and jungle noises" and has come up with "an ingenious plan".

The source told British tabloid The Sun: "Kanye's telling mates this is his next ingenious plan. He’s become so obsessed with roars, barks and jungle noises that he's experimenting with putting them on a recording."
