Flaming Lips break record for most shows in 24 hours - 06.28.2012
Paste reports that the Flaming Lips have broken Jay-Z's record for performing the most live shows in 24 hours. As of 6 p.m. Eastern time, the band began performing in New Orleans, which marked their eighth show since last night, which found them playing in Memphis, Clarksdale, Oxford, Jackson, Hattiesburg, Biloxi and Baton Rouge. Unlike Jay-Z's record-setting 24-hour "Hangar Tour," the Flaming Lips did not fly to any venues.
Paste reports that the Flaming Lips have broken Jay-Z's record for performing the most live shows in 24 hours. Dum Dum Girls announce new EP - 06.28.2012
Dum Dum Girls are preparing a new EP to follow last year's Only In Dreams. The five-track release is called End of Daze and will drop via Sub Pop on Sept. 25.

M83 to score sci-fi film - 06.28.2012
The Playlist reports that M83's Anthony Gonzalez will write the score for Oblivion, a science fiction film starring Tom Cruise and directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Tron: Legacy.
Gonzalez told The Playlist, "I'm not afraid to do my first soundtrack on a big Hollywood movie, with a big budget and a lot of pressure... I like challenges and it excites me more than frightens me."
