Swans, Tim Hecker to play Suuns-curated Sonic City fest - 06.29.2012
Sonic City Festival, held annually in Belgium, is taking place Dec. 1 and 2 this year, and it's being curated by dark indie rockers Suuns. Among the acts scheduled to play this year are Swans, Tim Hecker, Demdike Stare, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma and Han Bennink, as well as Suuns themselves. More acts will be announced in the coming months.

Wye Oak has just released their first new music since 2011's Civilian in the form of a single titled "Spiral." The single is being released as part of Adult Swim's summer singles series, and marks a kind of darker direction for the Baltimore duo.
The single will be available to download from Adult Swim on July 2, but you can stream it now over at NPR.

M83's "Midnight City" goes gold - 06.29.2012
M83 has just been certified Gold by the RIAA for the first time, for Hurry Up, We're Dreaming's lead single, "Midnight City." Gold certification, for those in need of a reminder, is awarded to singles or albums that have sold more than 500,000 copies, which "Midnight City" earned on the strength of digital downloads.
Congrats to Anthony Gonzalez. Last year we named "Midnight City" our Song of the Year, so we were pulling for him.

Dinosaur Jr. recently announced that I Bet On Sky, their follow-up to 2009's Farm, will be released on Sept. 18 via Jagjaguwar. Today we've got the first taste of the album, titled "Watch the Corners." It's fuzzy and loud and what anyone could possibly want from Dino Jr. after all this time.

The RZA's directorial debut, The Man With the Iron Fists, a totally over-the-top kung fu film (of course) will premiere October 26. It stars Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu and the RZA himself, and will feature music from the Black Keys, Kanye West and the Wu-Tang Clan, according to Consequence of Sound. Watch the trailer below.
