The Books reveal details of box set - 07.12.2012
Electro-acoustic duo The Books broke up earlier this year, but as a parting gift, they're releasing a retrospective box set due July 24 via Temporary Residence Limited, titled A Dot In Time. The image above is its cover.
The box features the band's four studio albums -- Thought For Food, The Lemon of Pink, Lost and Safe and The Way Out -- as well as a collection of 45 rare and unreleased tracks on two LPs, titled Music for a French Elevator and Other Oddities. The full tracklisting can be read here.
The box also includes a USB drive with MP3s of all the tracks, a DVD with 21 videos, and a picture book about golf. The box is limited to 1,000 copies. Watch a trailer for the collection below, in which Nick Zammuto explains it all.

It's simple, pretty straightforward even, but with the camera going slightly out of focus and Ramona Gonzalez's lip-syncing not actually matching up with the song's lyrics, it's a subtle trip. Fun Fun Fun Fest happens Nov. 2-4 on Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas, and its lineup, now revealed in full as of last night, has a long list of amazing acts. The full list is in the poster above, and right here, but among the noteworthy acts are Run DMC, A$AP Rocky, Girl Talk, De La Soul, Rakim, Danny Brown, Tanlines, Charli XCX, Santigold, Public Image Limited, Explosions in the Sky, Superchunk, Real Estate, The Promise Ring, Bob Mould (performing Sugar's Copper Blue), Atlas Sound, Titus Andronicus, Refused, X (performing Los Angeles), Fucked Up, Against Me!, Wavves, Seaweed, Converge, Napalm Death, Baroness, OFF!, Braid, Liturgy, Torche, Japandroids and Deafheaven, as well as comedy from David Cross, Wyatt Cenac, Hannibal Burress and Doug Benson, among many, many, many other acts.

Tame Impala recently teased an upcoming follow-up to their 2010 album Innerspeaker, and now the Australian psych-rock band has some details on their second album. Lonerism is due Oct. 9 via Modular, and its first single is called "Apocalypse Dreams." You can stream it below while you check out the tracklist. Oh, and that image above is its cover.
