Matmos signs with Thrill Jockey, announces new EP - 07.19.2012


Bay area electronic duo Matmos has moved on from longtime label home Matador to Thrill Jockey, on which the pair will offer up a new EP titled Ganzfield Oct. 15. In 2013, Matmos will follow that up with a full-length called The Marriage of True Minds. These will be the group's first new releases since 2010's Treasure State, their collaboration with So Percussion.

Pallbearer announce tour dates - 07.19.2012


Earlier this year, Little Rock's Pallbearer released a doom metal classic in the form of Sorrow & Extinction, and in September, the band plans to bring their thunderous sound to audiences around the country. All dates except Hopscotch and Fun Fun Fun Fest are with Royal Thunder and Samothrace.

Bikini Kill launch label, plan reissues - 07.19.2012


Legendary riot grrrl punk band Bikini Kill has launched a new label, Bikini Kill Records, through which they'll reissue items from their catalog. The launch of the label also happens to coincide with the 25th anniversary of their formation in Olympia, Wash.

Starting this fall, the band will reissue their debut 1992 EP and demo cassette, and is in the process of sifting through rare and unreleased material to come later. Right now you can stream all of their albums via Bandcamp.

Thrill Jockey plans 20th anniversary shows - 07.19.2012


Thrill Jockey Records turns 20 this year, which we commemorated recently in a 20-albums feature. To celebrate, the Chicago label is planning a series of shows with bands from its roster, two in New York, one in Portland and one in Maryland. Check out the itinerary below.
