Video: Andrew Bird - "Give It Away" - 07.24.2012
A strange birthday party is the subject of Andrew Bird's new video from Break It Yourself, in which a sort of creepy pinata man entertains children. It grows oddly touching at the end though. Watch and you'll see what we mean.

Caribou announces Daphni album - 07.24.2012

Caribou's Dan Snaith has announced he will be releasing a new album as Daphni, his name for his more dance-oriented electronic musical productions. The album is titled JIAOLONG, is out Oct. 16 via Merge, and will not be a proper follow-up to 2010's Swim, but rather a wholly new and unrelated project.

A press release states that Snaith built a modular synth that plays a prominent role on the album, and Snaith also added the following to describe his inspiration: "I'd fallen back in love with moments in small, dark clubs when a DJ puts on a piece of music that not only can you not identify but that until you heard it, you could not have conceived of it existing. In contrast to live concerts where bands predictably string together the songs from their most recent album, DJs have the potential to blindside you, be genuinely surprising. As a music producer, the parameters of dance music seem wider. The rhythmic underpinnings are liberating rather than constraining, allowing the rest of the elements to coalesce from a broad palette."

Check out the tracklist and video for new song "Ye Ye" below.

1 Yes, I Know
2 Cos-Ber-Zam - Ne Noya (Daphni Mix)
