Do you listen to so much music you can't keep your opinion to yourself? Are you an open-minded consumer prone to giving equal time to ambient, folk, hip-hop and metal? And do you feel like showing off your writing skills? Then Treble wants to hear from you.

Beck announces sheet music album - 08.08.2012
Beck is releasing a new "album" this fall, but it's not what one would typically expect. It will come in the form of the Beck Hansen Song Reader, which means it's up to the reader to work out what the song actually sounds like. The experimental release consists of 20 pieces of sheet music, each one corresponding to a piece of never before released music. It's being released through indie publisher McSweeney's in December.
So, just to clarify: you want to hear the song? Figure out how to play it yourself! But there's something cool about this project we haven't mentioned yet. McSweeney's will post performances of the songs by select readers and musicians after the album is released.

Pig Destroyer reveal album title, artwork - 08.08.2012
The picture of the ghostly child you see above is the cover artwork for Pig Destroyer's new album, which is titled Book Burner, according to a report from Decibel magazine.
Decibel also posted some studio footage from guitarist Scott Hull's Visceral Sound Studios in Bethesda, Maryland. So far, no release date has been announced for the new album, but it will be released on Relapse.

Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power, is gearing up to release Sun, her first album of original material since 2006's The Greatest, Sept. 4 via Matador. And to support the album, she'll be touring North America in the fall.
