Extensive Beatles vinyl box set coming in November - 09.27.2012

In 2009, it was sort of a big deal when The Beatles catalog was treated to newly remastered reissues, as well as ending up on the iTunes store after a long legal battle with Apple over use of the Apple name. On Nov. 13, however, the Beatles catalog will be reissued on vinyl. Each album will be available individually, as well as in the form of a giant box set spanning the band's entire career, as you can see above.

The box set will be limited to 50,000 copies, and will come in a retro travel case with a 252-page book by radio producer Kevin Howlett, which will feature chapters on each album.

The Stereo Albums:

Please Please Me
With The Beatles
A Hard Day's Night
Beatles For Sale
Help!
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Magical Mystery Tour
The Beatles (White Album)

Beach Boys' Mike Love fires Brian Wilson, Al Jardine - 09.27.2012

If anyone ever wondered why Beach Boys fans harbor so much hostility toward Mike Love, this is a good reason: he just fired his bandmates. The New York Times reports that Love kicked out remaining original members Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, as well as longtime member David Marks.

Disagreements have long been held between Love and Wilson, which the two put aside in the interest of a 50-year reunion this year. Apparently the truce is off, and now Love is in control, touring with Bruce Johnston and a backing band.

Wilson said to CNN, "I'm disappointed and can’t understand why he doesn't want to tour with Al, David, and me. We are out there having so much fun. After all, we are the real Beach Boys."

He's right, you know. It just isn't the Beach Boys without Brian Wilson.

Video: Grizzly Bear - "Yet Again" - 09.27.2012
Grizzly Bear have just debuted the first video from new album Shields, and it's an impressive one to say the least. The Emily Kai Bock-directed clip centers on a figure skater who ends up on a sort of surreal journey after falling through the ice and emerging from a lake. She takes a long, sullen walk home, and finishes her voyage with an intense freak out. Watch the beautifully filmed, emotionally charged clip below.
