St. Vincent, Passion Pit on new "Twilight" soundtrack - 10.05.2012


Next month, the fourth installment of the Twilight film series, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, will be in theaters. And its soundtrack, much like its predecessors, features a long list of buzzworthy acts, from Passion Pit and St. Vincent to Ellie Goulding (produced by Skrillex). The soundtrack album is out Nov. 13 via Atlantic.

Mogwai announces new remix album - 10.05.2012


Mogwai have announced the details of a new remix album titled A Wretched Virile Lore, which will be released Nov. 23 on vinyl, and Dec. 4 on CD, via Sub Pop. The album contains reworked versions of songs from their Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will album, as remixed by the likes of Justin Broadrick of Jesu/Pale Sketcher, Tim Hecker, and the Soft Moon.

The Dismemberment Plan confirm recording of new album - 10.05.2012


After a series of reunion tour dates and a reissue of their landmark 1999 album Emergency & I, The Dismemberment Plan are finally heading back to the studio to record their first new music in 11 years, according to Exclaim!.

Additionally, on Twitter, Travis Morrison has announced a few details about the album, first and foremost that it's "80% done." He also tweeted:

-just comped new Plan lyrics into one book. I do this when our albums are 80% done or so. A little amped, I can't lie. #nowbacktowork

-Yes the Plan is working on a new album! Sorry thought this was somewhat public knowledge

-Current front runner for album title is "The Adventures of Bobby Beverage And Two Shoe Lou." BIG Jim Croce influence on this one.
