LCD Soundsystem photo book coming in December - 10.24.2012


A lot of effort has gone into chronicling the career of LCD Soundsystem following their split last year on the heels of 2010's This Is Happening. This year saw the release of documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits, and now powerHouse Books is releasing a book of photography that focuses on the Brooklyn band.

The 216-page LCD will be released in December, and features photography by Ruvan Wijesooriya and an introduction by James Murphy. "Ruvan has been getting in my face for years," Murphy writes, "this is basically illegal. It's stalking."

D'Angelo's Voodoo to be reissued on vinyl - 10.24.2012


As we wait for D'Angelo's hotly anticipated third album James River, Modern Classics Recordings has announced it is reissuing the R&B artist's classic 2000 album, Voodoo, on vinyl Dec. 11. The 180 gram 2xLP will include new liner notes by Jason King including interviews with ?uestlove, Pino Palladino, Charlie Hunter, James Poyser, Alan Leeds and Russ Elevado. It can be pre-ordered here.

Voodoo was one of our Top 150 Albums of the '00s, btw.

Video: Sufjan Stevens - "Mr. Frosty Man" - 10.24.2012
Sufjan Stevens' Christmas extravaganza, Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas Volumes 6-10 (out Nov. 13 via Asthmatic Kitty) gets more ridiculous each time we report something new about it. Today, Stevens released the claymation video for "Mr. Frosty Man," which turns the story of Frosty the Snowman into a hilarious, disturbing and extremely gory zombie flick. Watch the blood-spattered clip, directed by Lee Hardcastle, below.
