Are you an avid music listener and voracious reader of articles about music? Do you have an open mind and an endless appetite for hearing new music? And do you want to share your unique—and articulate—musical perspective with the world? Then you’re in luck. Treble is looking for some new contributing writers. We’re looking for contributors who are motivated, curious and interested in a wide spectrum of music, and keep up with new developments in music as they’re happening. But we also value writers with a deep knowledge of music and a big catalog of favorites. Basically, if you love music, we want to talk to you.
Contributors will ideally be contributing a range of different articles, including album reviews, interviews or profiles, thinkpieces or trendpieces, essays, contributions to lists and roundtables and other types of writing. Versatility and creativity are a must.
To apply: Send an email with some writing samples and a list of your current favorite albums or songs, plus a list of your all-time favorite albums or songs to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Writing for Treble.” We’re also interested in specific pitches, if you have some particular ideas you’d like to send our way. We’ll be contacting potential contributors within the next few weeks.
Please note: This is an unpaid position for the time being. Treble is a labor of love for everyone involved, though there are definitely benefits to contributing, including free music, free entry into shows and being part of a fun, friendly online community that occasionally participates in mixtape swaps and bake sales. And our editor in chief will totally buy drinks when he’s in town.
