Premiere: Oak House provide a journey through headphones in the “Cut That Out” video
Earlier this year, Atlanta-based band Oak House released their second full-length album, Hot or Mood. It’s an upbeat and accessible, yet somewhat psychedelic and heavily layered indie rock album, with new things to discover with each listen. Today, Treble is premiering a new video from the album, for “Cut That Out.” Directed by Javier Rodriguez, the video follows a young man who discovers the band’s music, listens through earbuds and goes on an adventure, which includes splashing in puddles, convenience-store shopping, meeting a woman in a lake, getting high and other detours.
Vocalist and guitarist Gresham Cash had this to say about the video:
“We enlisted Javier Rodriguez, a talented filmmaker in Atlanta, to work on the music video. We discussed the concept for the song and tried to capture the circular feeling of the music and content of the song. Each section attempts to encapsulate the idea of being ‘stuck in someone else’s dream.’ Reality is eventually attained.”
