Animal Collective announce reissue of debut, Spirit They’re Gone Spirit They’ve Vanished

Animal Collective are reissuing their debut. On May 12, the group will release a remastered edition of the 2000 CD-R release Spirit They’re Gone Spirit They’ve Vanished via Domino, featuring new artwork by Abby and Dave Portner. They’re also releasing A Night at Mr. Raindrop’s Holistic Supermarket, an EP featuring previously unreleased recordings from the same era, including a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” Hear two songs from these releases, “Chocolate Girl (Remastered)” and “Untitled 1.”

Animal Collective’s last album was 2022’s Time Skiffs. Their 2004 album Sung Tongs is featured on our list, A History of Indie Folk in 45 Essential Albums.
