Pile recently announced the details of their new album, All Fiction, which will be released on February 17 via Exploding In Sound. They previously released the first single “Loops,” which we named an Essential Track. And today, they’ve shared a video for a new single, “Poisons,” which a press release states is inspired in part by PJ Harvey and examines drug use, music’s environmental impact and self-awareness. Hear it below.

Rick Maguire said about the song in a statement, “It’s about trying to abstain from participating in things that aren’t really good for anybody but also feeling very unaware in general, and the frustration of trying to hold both of those sentiments.”

All Fiction follows Pile’s last album of all new (non-instrumental) material, Green & Gray. Read our interview with Maguire from 2019.

Pile live dates:

2/28 – Philadelphia, PA @ PhilaMOCA
3/1 – Ridgewood, NY @ TV Eye
3/3 – Somerville, MA @ Arts at the Armory
