Two that dog. albums to be reissued on vinyl

Two albums by Los Angeles power pop group that dog. are being reissued on vinyl via Third Man Records. On July 24, Third Man will release 1995’s Totally Crushed Out and 1997’s Retreat From the Sun, which will be available on vinyl for the first time. The reissues coincide with the 25th anniversary of Totally Crushed Out, whose single “He’s Kissing Christian” was a 120 Minutes staple in the mid-’90s. Touring behind the album found the group sharing stages with Beck, Foo Fighters and Teenage Fanclub.

Retreat From the Sun was initially conceived as a solo album for vocalist Anna Waronker, and the album once again found the group highlighted and interviewed by Matt Pinfield on 120 Minutes with regular rotation for their single “Never Say Never,” which was also featured in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
