The Goon Sax have announced they’re coming to an end. In a social media post this morning, the Australian indie rock group released some “bittersweet news.” “[A]fter nine years of giving it our everything we’ve decided to draw the curtain on this band,” their statement reads. “It’s taken us places stranger, more beautiful, and far beyond anything we could have imagined, and brought us to meeting and working with so many special and incredibly inspiring people.” The band also announced that this means they’ll no longer be playing their scheduled tour dates with Spoon and Interpol or Pavement. They conclude the statement by saying “For us it feels like a happy ending,” as well as clarifying that they will play one final show in Australia, as yet to be scheduled.
