For Record Store Day‘s Black Friday, St. Vincent released a new 10-inch EP with a pair of brand new, previously songs that have been live staples during Annie Clark’s St. Vincent tour. The two tracks are titled “Pieta” and “Sparrow,” and if you didn’t pick up the vinyl EP yesterday, then there’s a good chance it’ll be hard to find now. However, the Well Hydrated Tumblr has shared streaming audio of the two tracks, so you can listen to them both right now. Hear the new St. Vincent Record Store Day EP tracks below.
“Sparrow” is described on the RSD website as a “deep musing on death and loss that recalls the sonic textures of Big Science-era Laurie Anderson.” The EP packaging was designed by Willo Perrnon, who collaborated with Clark on her new album and its accompanying tour. Have a listen to the new tracks and be extra thankful this year for the extra dose of St. Vincent. We certainly are.
