Wire announce new album, tour dates
Post-punk legends Wire have been on an impressive and fairly prolific streak since returning in 2002 with their Read and Burn EPs. Once again, the band has new music on the way, in the form of a new self-titled album, out April 21 via Pink Flag, which follows 2013’s Change Becomes Us. It’s the first new album of the band’s to be recorded with guitarist Matthew Simms, of It Hugs Back. And according to a press release, the album is full of “swooning pop melodies with a 60’s tinge and an irresistible, near motorik rhythmic momentum.”
