HEALTH share new track, “Stonefist”
After the pulsing, electronic mayhem of first single “New Coke” (an Endless Playlist pick) and its vomit-heavy video, Los Angeles noise-rock electro-industrialists HEALTH have shared yet another new track from Death Magic. The new track is called “Stonefist,” and it’s yet another beastly, brutal and beautiful slice of noisy electro. It’s not as immediately catchy as “New Coke”—if such a thing can be said about any of the band’s songs—but it is pretty danceable, and does rise up to an unexpectedly powerful chorus, and there are some pretty synths in the mix as well. The band is evolving into something complex and fascinating for sure. Listen to “Stonefist” below.
Death Magic follows 2009’s Get Color. It’s out Aug. 7 via Loma Vista.
