Margo Price releases new mixtape of protest songs, Days of Unrest

Just in time for the 4th of July holiday, Margo Price has surprise released a new mixtape of protest songs, Days of Unrest. Produced by collaborator Matt Ross-Spang and recorded in Nashville, Memphis and San Francisco, it features Price’s takes on songs recorded by Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, and more. A portion of the D2C proceeds from Days Of Unrest‘s vinyl edition will be donated to the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project (FIRRP).

“I’ve been singing ‘Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)’ for a couple decades now, so it’s only fitting that I would cover it on Days Of Unrest,” she said in a statement. “I first heard it when I was watching Joan Baez and Bob Dylan sing it on The Rolling Thunder Review. Joan Baez has inspired me beyond words, so to have her voice on this recording feels surreal. I’ve taken cues from her career both musically and as I’ve moved into the role of ‘cultural worker.'”

Margo Price’s last album was 2025’s Hard Headed Woman.
