Blood Orange announces new album, Negro Swan
Blood Orange has announced a new album. On August 24, Dev Hynes will release Negro Swan via Domino, with a 2xLP version expected to be released on October 5. As of right now, the full tracklist has yet to be revealed, but that’s the album’s cover above. Take a look at Blood Orange’s upcoming tour dates below.
Hynes said the following about the album in a statement: “My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”
Negro Swan follows Blood Orange’s 2016 album, Freetown Sound.
