Watch the live-in-studio video for Bondo’s deep-grooving “Bibendum”
On October 18, Los Angeles post-rock group Bondo will release their new album, Harmonica. And today they’ve shared a new single, “Bibendum,” which arrives in the form of a video featuring live performance from their rehearsal space. It’s a spacious but deeply grooving track, heavy on both dub and post-punk elements, a dark but accessible showcase for the group’s instrumental chops.
The group said about the new song in a statement, “Recorded in one take, this song demonstrates how Bondo keeps the process natural, not overthinking and trying to keep the feeling as unaltered and raw as possible. Simultaneously urgent and unrushed, this song’s dynamic build features guitar counterpoint, delay feedback, and a dub siren hard panned and echoing. With no vocals, the song creates its own world of gain and overdrive – a hot engine, four tires spinning, Bibendum, the Michelin man.”
