Watch the new Dewey Defeats Truman video for “Subtract Yourself”
In October, San Diego indie rock outfit Dewey Defeats Truman released The Way You Shatter (via Silver Girl Records), an EP of new music that arrived following the band’s reunion in 2018. The trio of Mark MacBride, James Reader and Scott Frazier—who initially split up back in 2003—have been releasing new music since then, including a pair of singles prior to The Way You Shatter, and now they’ve got a new video for one of their latest EP’s highlights. “Subtract Yourself” is an energized and intricate rocker with dynamic rhythmic shifts and dense guitars, but lots of big hooks to go around. The video is an appropriately kaleidoscopic and colorful companion to the song, a hypnotic visual pairing for an awesome indie rock anthem.
