Watch the new video from Seattle shoegazers Spiral XP, “Deja Vu”
On February 17, Seattle shoegazers Spiral XP release their new EP, It’s Been A While via Danger Collective. And today, the band have debuted their first video from the upcoming release, for the leadoff track, “Deja Vu.” The blissfully noisy track packs some big hooks and layers of My Bloody Valentine- and Dinosaur Jr.-style guitars into just under two minutes. Meanwhile, the video itself—directed, shot and edited by Sebastien Deramat—features some green screen hijinks, depicting the band playing in outer space, in the palm of a giant hand, in flames and endless hallways, and even next to a dancing Santa Claus. It’s endearingly goofy, and the song feels like a necessary dose of summertime in the middle of winter.
