HEALTH – “Stonefist”

The last time that HEALTH released a video, for recent single “New Coke,” it involved a lot of vomiting. Their latest, for Death Magic highlight “Stonefist,” isn’t as immediately gag-inducing, but it’s most definitely disturbing. The clip, directed by NAKED FACES, is actually an expensive-looking video, a big production with elaborate light displays and even a troupe of dancers. But then you notice that there’s shots of a surgery table cut between shots of the band’s performance, with some brief shots of gross medical stuff happening. And then you get to the big reveal, which is both amusing and disturbing in equal amounts. That’s the strange, eccentric HEALTH we know and love.
