Stream the new Unwound box set, Empire
Legendary Washington noise-rock/post-hardcore trio Unwound has been steadily reissuing a series of career-spanning box sets via Numero Group over the last few years. The reissue series launched with Kid Is Gone in 2013, then continued with Rat Conspiracy and No Energy in 2014, and will wrap the series with Empire, which comes out on Friday, September 4. The box set spans the final four years of the band’s career, and includes the albums Challenge for a Civilized Society (1998) and Leaves Turn Inside You (2001). They’re essential recordings for any fans of experimental punk, and Leaves Turn was an incredible high note for the band to walk into the sunset. So if you haven’t heard them yet, now’s your chance. The full four-hour box set is now streaming on Soundcloud, courtesy of Fact. Listen to the Unwound Empire stream below.
