Hear a new song from Lucrecia Dalt, “caes (feat. Camille Mandoki)”

Lucrecia Dalt has released another new single from her upcoming album, A Danger to Ourselves, which is out September 5 via RVNG Intl. Following the previous singles “cosa rara” and “divina,” each of which we named an Essential Track, she’s shared “caes,” which features Camille Mandoki. Hear it below.
“Musically, I wanted to hint at a slowed-down and diluted dembow, but with a melodic energy that felt ancient. Poetically, it’s an amalgamation of various references; it examines the legacy of one’s life through the lens of tragedy. Ana Mendieta and Evelyn McHale were specific figures, in my mind,” Dalt said in a statement. “It features my dear friend Camille who has a unique voice that is rare to hear nowadays. I love it when female voices carry a certain depth, and they don’t spend too much time in the upper, breathy register.”
Dalt has also announced a couple upcoming listening parties for the album, which also will include Q&A sessions. Check those out below.
A Danger to Ourselves follows 2022’s ¡Ay!, which we included on our list of the 100 Best Albums of the Decade So Far.
