Tigers in Cairo My Saving Face

San Diego punks Tigers in Cairo formed a little over a year ago, and they’ve been releasing a steady stream of singles ever since. Their latest is “My Saving Face,” a driving anthem of post-hardcore punch reminiscent of Militarie Gun or Zoo-era Ceremony. It hits hard, but it’s big on hooks. Check it out below.

“The song is a culmination of various moments in my life when the people I turned to for support were also struggling themselves,” singer David Martin said in a statement. “Panic and uncertainty can lead people to make irrational decisions that aren’t healthy for them or for those around them. This track touches on some of those moments I’ve witnessed or had projected onto me—especially during times of grief and uncertainty. There isn’t necessarily a solution presented in the lyrics, since everyone reacts to uncertainty differently. Rather, the song serves as a reminder for me (and hopefully you) to check in on your loved ones when times get tough, and be there to support one another.”

The group will also be performing with Head Automatica and A Lot Like Birds at a Furnace Fest pre-show on Oct. 2 in Birmingham, Alabama.
