Alan Vega’s first two albums to be reissued

The first two albums by the late Suicide frontman Alan Vega are being reissued. Alan Vega and Collision Drive will be released via Sacred Bones on January 23, along with the 2xLP Alan Vega Deluxe Edition, which features previously unreleased demo recordings. The albums will be released on vinyl and 8-track as well as digital streaming platforms.
“Alan’s music thrived on interpretation,” Liz Lamere, Vega’s widow and frequent collaborator, said in a press release. “He believed the meaning of his songs belonged to the listener. His lyrics painted emotional and conceptual landscapes but he resisted explaining them. He always wanted the listener to bring their own experiences, imaginations, and emotions into what listening to his music and words meant to them, and ultimately that openness is part of its power.”
