Watch the new Worm video for “Blackheart”

Florida death metal outfit Worm recently announced the details of their new album, NECROPALACE, which is out February 13 via Century Media. After previously sharing the first single, the title track, the band have released another new song from the album, “Blackheart,” which you can check out below via its video, directed by Norman Cabrera.

Vocalist Phantom Slaughter said in a statement, “We consider this to be a gothic vampire love ballad. Sharing a different kind of emotion and color than the rest of the record. The lyrics touch on the isolation and loss one feels as a child of the night. Musically, ‘Blackheart’ fuses Avant-garde music era Katatonia and their love of Fields Of The Nephilim with icy AOR like FM (UK), Strangeways, and Harem Scarem. We could not leave behind our Floridian heritage so there are also frozen swamp nods to Death (Symbolic) as well as Crimson Glory.”

Worm’s last full-length album was 2021’s Foreverglade. The band’s split with Dream Unending, Starpath, is featured on our list of the Best Metal Albums of 2023.
