Death Cab for Cutie announce new album, I Built You A Tower

Death Cab for Cutie have announced a new album. Four years after their excellent 2022 album Asphalt Meadows, the group have announced their move to Anti- with the release of new album I Built You A Tower, out June 5. The first single is “Riptides.” Hear it below.
The album was produced by John Congleton (Angel Olsen, St. Vincent, Baroness) and is “about the challenge of dealing with personal struggles as the world around us experiences tragedy and loss on an unfathomable scale,” according to a statement from frontman Ben Gibbard. “And how when these two elements intertwine themselves in our psyches, it feels utterly paralyzing.”
The band is also on tour this summer and fall, including dates with Jay Som, Japanese Breakfast, Lala Lala and Nation of Language.
Death Cab for Cutie’s Transatlanticism is featured on our list of our favorite indie rock albums of the 21st century.
