Shearwater have announced a new album. On July 31, the long-running band fronted by singer/songwriter Jonathan Meiburg will release The New World via their own Polyborus imprint in partnership with Secretly Distribution. Today they’ve shared two singles, “Daydream Unbeliever” and “More and More,” which you can hear below. The former features Xiu Xiu‘s Jamie Stewart hitting a gong, while the latter features birds and church bells recorded in Berlin.

“If you’re like us, you wake up feeling like the world’s on fire, and hoping you could reckon with it if you knew where to begin,” Meiburg said in a statement. “‘Daydream Unbeliever’ and ‘More and More’ come from this uneasy place. If they help you feel a little less insane, welcome home.”

Shearwater’s last album was 2022’s The Great Awakening. Read our interview with Shearwater’s Jonathan Meiburg.
