Arca announces new album, XXXXX

Arca has announced a new album. On July 31, she’ll release XXXXX via XL. It’ll be preceded by a livestream on YouTube and Twitch on July 23. It’s directed by Daniel Sannwald, and styled by Akeem Smith, and will premiere at 9:30 p.m. CEST.
The album was initially conceived as a mixtape, following the spirit of &&&&& (2013) and @@@@@ (2020), but “revealed itself as an album,” according to a press release, which also states that it “arrives as a deliberate interruption of expectation.”
“It seems playful, also mischievous, to interrupt that autopilot,” said Arca in a statement.
Arca’s last albums were KiCK ii-iiii.
