Bardo Pond announce reissue of 1999’s Set and Setting
Bardo Pond‘s 1999 album Set and Setting is getting a reissue. On October 25, the Philadelphia psych/space rock group’s fourth album will be reissued on vinyl by Matador Records as part of their Revisionist History series. It’ll be released on 2xLP purple vinyl, and will also be accompanied by the release of a 2xLP rarities compilation, titled Melt Away. Check out the previously unreleased video for “This Time (So Fucked)” below.
“It was closer to the heart of what we do,” said guitarist Michael Gibbons about the album. “There was more improvisation, but also more culling of material. We had more time to find things that jumped out at us, go places we wouldn’t normally go, do investigative work. I think there was a shift. It’s just somehow a more true experience of Bardo Pond.”
Bardo Pond’s Peace on Venus is featured on our list of 10 Essential Fire Records Albums.
