BBE Music reveals details of new David Bowie tribute, Modern Love

Late last year, BBE Music announced it was planning to release a new David Bowie tribute album, and now—on what would have been Bowie’s 74th birthday—the label has revealed the details of that album. Modern Love will be released on May 28 and focuses Bowie’s influence on soul, R&B, funk and jazz music, and it features Jeff Parker, We Are KING, Khruangbin, Helado Negro and more. The first track that’s been released is We Are KING’s take on “Space Oddity.” Hear it below and check out the album’s tracklist.

“There were so many amazing Bowie compositions to choose from but ‘Space Oddity’ has always been our favourite,” We Are KING’s Amber and Paris Strother said in a press release. “It’s so visual; it has always felt like time travel in a song. It tells such a vivid and imaginative story of Major Tom’s trip through space and it was such a cool experience to reimagine what it’d be like on the voyage.”
