Destroyer announces new album, Dan’s Boogie

Destroyer is back. On March 28, Dan Bejar will release his latest album, Dan’s Boogie, via Merge. The first single is titled “Bologna,” featuring Fiver’s Simone Schmidt, and you can hear it below. Destroyer has also announced tour dates, including shows with Father John Misty, who recently released an excellent album of his own.

“I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’” Bejar said in a statement. “I struggled singing the first and third verses, the most important parts of the song. They needed gravity and grit. The threat of disappearing needed to be real. So I called Simone.”

Destroyer’s “June” is featured on our list of the 100 Best Songs of 2022.
