On February 21, sludgy Portland noise rock outfit Gaytheist release their seventh album, The Mustache Stays, via Hex Records. And today, the group has released the first single, “Zoobreak,” which is an energetic blast of hook-laden post-hardcore rife with beefy, fuzz-caked guitar riffs and an anthemic sensibility that sets them apart from their more abrasive peers. It recalls Torche at their most driving and melodic, Melvins with a well-honed pop sensibility, as well as the explosive punch of the late great Parts & Labor. Hear “Zoobreak” below, and check out the artwork and details of The Mustache Stays.
