Julie Doiron has announced a new album with partner and singer/songwriter Dany Placard. Following I Thought of You (about which we said, “Her sense of melody and charmingly intimate focus haven’t changed, but they’ve been given the gift of kickass”), which Doiron released in late 2021, the duo have announced Julie & Dany via Simone Records. The new album was recorded in the pair’s New Brunswick home during lockdown. The first track that they’ve shared from the album is titled “Mayo,” and you can hear it below. Also take a look at the album’s artwork below.

The two singer/songwriters say of the new track in a statement, “‘Mayo’ is a day like many days in our little house in New Brunswick. And while it seems we are just singing of things like mayonnaise and carottes, we are mostly singing of the ups and downs and all the moments in between.”
