Stream the new Parquet Courts album, Sunbathing Animal
On June 3, Brooklyn post-punks Parquet Courts will release Sunbathing Animal, their highly anticipated follow-up to 2013’s Light Up Gold, via What’s Your Rupture?/Mom + Pop Music. We already lent our Endless Playlist endorsement to second single “Black and White,” but that’s really just one of many highlights on this new long-player, which ranges from Wire-style punk rave-ups to Velvet Underground inspired art-rock dirges. It’s a pretty wide spectrum of everything that’s good in rock music, more or less. And you can experience all of that spectrum this week, because it’s streaming in full via NPR First Listen.
