Stream the new Wye Oak album, Shriek
On April 29, Baltimore indie rock duo Wye Oak will release Shriek, their highly anticipated follow-up to 2011’s excellent Civilian, via Merge Records. The album is quite a bit more steeped in synthesizers than guitars, which catch take a few longtime listeners off guard. But it only takes one spin to hear that the melodies and hooks that the band have always excelled at are most definitely still there.
So, if you do want to listen to the album, a week before it’s out in stores, then you’re in luck. NPR First Listen is hosting a stream of the album right now. Listen here.
