Spoon, Bon Iver, The National on Eaux Claires lineup
Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner are launching the Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival this year, which takes place on July 17 and 18 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The two artists and founders first began to announce the lineup through the mail, but today, the full lineup has been revealed. All of the artists playing the festival were posted on the festival website, accompanied by a trailer video for the fest.
Featured on the Eaux Claires lineup this year are Spoon, The National, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Low, Blind Boys of Alabama, The Tallest Man on Earth, Sturgill Simpson, Liturgy, Melt Banana, Polica, Retribution Gospel Choir, S. Carey, Haley Bonar, Hiss Golden Messenger, Boys Noize, Colin Stetson, Doomtree, Sam Amidon, Sylvan Esso, and many others. Additionally, Indigo Girls will perform their 1994 album Swamp Ophelia in full.
Vernon said about the festival in a press release: “We at Eaux Claires have been driven by the idea that our festival would encourage music-genre-walls to melt away. That the barriers between the stage and the audience altered, and expression and experience put above all. We have put so much thought into who should collaborate at this festival, from musicians to actors, filmmakers to visual artists. We will all share and revel in this collision of artistic force while performing inthe arms of our own Chippewa River Valley.”
