Leon Bridges announces new album Happiness Anytime

Leon Bridges is returning with a new album. On September 25, he’ll release Happiness Anytime via Columbia. It’s produced by J Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kitto of Jungle, and a press release cites Paul Simon, Jorge Ben and Fela Kuti as influences on its sound. Today, he’s released not one, not two, but four new singles all at once: “Light the Way,” “Tears of Joy,” “Illusion” and “Your Love Is Electric,” which comprise the first of three four-song EPs that make up the album. The next batch of four will be released in August, and then the final four on the album’s release date. Hear the first four singles below.

“For me, happiness is not a feeling that you chase,” Bridges said in a statement. “I want this album to be something that lingers with people and lingers in people’s bones. There’s this feeling that we have to fix the problems of the world; you feel inadequate or it can be debilitating. My role is to be light. I hope that comes across with this album.”
