Deafheaven announce new album

Deafheaven have just announced their third album, albeit cryptically. The band tweeted this morning, “It begins again. Deafheaven.com Oct. 2015.” And following the link to their website reveals a teaser for their new album, the title of which has not yet been revealed. (The video is titled “Deafheaven LP3 2015.”) The teaser features one minute of music and studio footage, with a suitably mysterious combination of serene and intense sounds, as one can expect from the San Francisco black metal band. Even more interesting: The video was posted by Anti- Records, suggesting that Deafheaven has made the leap from Deathwish Inc. on up to the Epitaph-affiliated indie label.
Outside of that, there’s still not much information to go on, but rest assured, that Deafheaven’s follow up to 2013’s Sunbather will be released this fall. Watch the Deafheaven new album teaser below.
Deafheaven’s Sunbather is on our Top 100 Metal Albums list.
