President Obama shares summer playlists
No matter what happens in the November presidential election, there’s one thing that we can be sure of: Our outgoing president is still the tastemaker-in-chief. After last year sharing that his song of the year was one of the many highlights from Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, today President Barack Obama shared his two summer playlists. They come in two flavors: Daytime and nighttime. The daytime playlist features Prince, Courtney Barnett, Wale, Leon Bridges, Janelle Monáe, Common, Jay Z, Nas and Charles Mingus. The nighttime playlist, however, is a little sexier. It features D’Angelo, Ledisi, Esperanza Spalding, Chance the Rapper, Mary J. Blige, Caetano Veloso, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday and Fiona Apple’s “Criminal.” Gettin’ a little steamy in here, Mr. President!
