Stream the new Shabazz Palaces album, Lese Majesty
Shabazz Palaces’ Lese Majesty — the Seattle hip-hop duo’s follow-up to 2011’s Black Up — is our Album of the Week this week. But technically, it’s not out until July 29. That doesn’t mean you can’t listen to the album, however. Along with the stream of the new Jenny Lewis album, The Voyager (which you should also listen to), NPR First Listen is hosting a stream of Lese Majesty in full. In a sense, it’s better to be able to hear the full album rather than bits and pieces, because it works most strongly as a cohesive whole, which is just one of many ways in which the group is rewriting the rules of hip-hop.
