Ragana and Drowse share new song, “Ash Souvenir”
On Nov. 14, Drowse and Ragana are releasing a collaborative album, Ash Souvenir, via The Flenser. The two artists recently released the opening track, “In Eternal Woods Pts. 1-3.” And today, they’re following that up with the release of the title track. Hear it below.
Maria from Ragana said about the song in a statement, “‘Ash Souvenir’ is a song dedicated to my mom. I got to play her this song before she died and she really liked it. At the end she is all I can think about when I say ‘there is nothing to lose’ over and over until it’s a meditation. The words poured through me from my mom somehow. I think it means we don’t take anything with us when we die, we don’t have to worry about things, just people and mountains.”
Ragana’s last album was 2023’s Desolation’s Flower. It’s featured on our list of the 50 Best Albums of 2023.
