Fontaines D.C. release new song, “Here’s the Thing”

On August 23, Fontaines D.C. will release their fourth album, Romance, via XL. They’ve already shared two Essential Tracks-worthy singles, “Starburster” and “Favourite“. And today they’ve released the third single, “Here’s the Thing,” which arrives via a new video directed by Luna Carmoon where chaos breaks out at an Irish step dancing competition. Watch it below.

“It’s an anxious tune that twists and turns in what it wants, back and forth between pain and numbness,” said vocalist Grian Chatten in a statement.

Romance follows 2022’s Skinty Fia. It was featured on our list of the 50 Best Albums of 2022.
